On the 10th of February, we had a wonderful celebration of our 64th Birthday, sharing it with our spouses, Honorary Members and guests. The 23rd of February saw Rotary International celebrated its 121st Birthday and February 2nd saw PROBUS celebrated its 50th Anniversary in Australia. Finally, last Thursday, Bruce, Dudley, Trish and I represented our Club at the 20th Anniversary of the PROBUS Club of Sunnybank.
With all these celebrations happening around us, it's easy to lose sight of the MAIN EVENT. Whilst we are small in number, we still have the ability to meet our obligations as Rotarians, a reminder of these from your induction:
Represent our vocation,
Attend regular meetings,
Be an ambassador of Rotary and carry the principles of Rotary Service to others,
Support the Rotary Foundation,
Be an inspiration and help, to enable us to become better Rotarians.
At this time for our Club, it is not about having the biggest and best service project, it is more about support the club and each other as we work to strengthen and build our Club. Having said that, we are still actively supporting St David's and Maggies Markets each month.
A huge vote of thanks to Col and Dudley for their service to The Rotary Club of Salisbury and Rotary in general. Your years of service is an inspiration to all of us and those who witness it.
In 2025-2026, let's strive to
Unite for good for Rotary,
Unite for good for our Club
and
Unite for good for our Community.

While we are rebuilding, our caterer is having difficulty catering for our small numbers. Ace has agreed to provide meals for one meeting a month at which we will pay for a minimum number.
On the other meeting/s we will either self cater or simply not have meal. This may also give us a chance to get through some more business.

PROBUS Club of Sunnybank
20th Anniversary
On Thursday 5th March, Bruce and I, along with Dudley and Trish, represented our Club at the 20th Anniversary of the PROBUS Club. Bruce was the President of the Rotary Club of Salisbury when they were chartered after the initial work of PP Tony Wharton. Tony was the District 9630 Probus Chairman and was responsible for the establishment and promotion of Probus throughout the District.
The anniversary meeting was a chance to catchup with a number of old friends and to make some new friends.
Bruce and I had the honour of presenting 20 Year Service pins to 8 of the 11 remaining foundation members.
One of the highlights for Trish and Dudley was when Trish drew Dudley's ticket in the raffle. The first prize as a picnic basket full of goodies, an excellent preparation for our visit to John and Lindy's home on Mt Tamborine.

Rotary Ambassadors
Rotary ambassadors are artists, musicians, actors, and humanitarians who support Rotary’s work across all our main causes to create lasting change. They promote our vision of a world where people unite and take action by expanding our reach to new audiences, helping people understand who we are and what we do, and raising awareness of Rotary around the world. Through events, advocacy, media, and more, Rotary ambassadors engage with members and supporters to amplify our vision and impact.

“Returning to my home country of Guatemala with Rotary exposed me to the life-changing impact its members have had on early education and literacy in the country. I met children who now are inspired to dream big, and who have been given the tools necessary to make their dreams a reality. As a Rotary ambassador with deep personal connections to its members, I want to help spread the word about this remarkable organization that’s giving hope to so many children around the globe.”
