The Absence of an” Official Creed": Rotary has no secret handshake, no secret policy, no official creed, no secret meetings or rituals. It is an open society of men and women who simply believe in helping others.

While we are rebuilding, our caterer is having difficulty catering for our small numbers. Ace has agreed to provide meals for one meeting a month at which we will pay for a minimum number.
On the other meeting/s we will either self cater or simply not have meal. This may also give us a chance to get through some more business.

More than 30,000 set to gather in Taipei for Rotary’s international convention in June 2026
Rotary members from 120 countries will be welcomed to Taipei for the second time since the city hosted the event in 1994
While in Taipei recently, Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo announced that more than 30,000 Rotary members and participants from over 120 countries will gather in Taipei, Taiwan 13-17 June 2026 for the membership service organization’s annual international convention.
The Rotary convention is expected to inject US$50-55 million into the local economy, and drive significant business for Taipei’s hotels, restaurants, retailers, and tourism attractions. Taipei was selected as the site of the 2021 Rotary convention, but the event was cancelled because of the COVID pandemic.
Trekking to Everest Base Camp to end polio
By Jessie Harman, past Rotary International director and chair of Rotary Foundation Australia
In April, I stood at 4,400 meters (14,435 feet) taking in the incredible view from Dingboche. The previous day’s chill had turned to snow and we’d been walking in sub-zero temperatures. I was feeling well, no obvious effects of the altitude – and hoping it would stay that way. As Everest Base Camp got closer, I reflected on how Rotary’s goal of a polio-free world was also getting closer. When my legs got weary, that thought spurred me on.
I reached Everest Base Camp, the goal of my challenge, two days later. Everything about it was incredible – the landscape, the challenge, and the opportunity to raise funds to support Rotary’s polio eradication campaign.
Raising funds was important for me. I used Rotary’s Raise for Rotary platform with all its benefits; simple to set up, funds straight to PolioPlus, shareable via social media. I shared my journey via Facebook and Instagram and collected supporters along the way. The generosity of people is inspiring, and by the end, my supporters had donated more than AUD $30,000 (about US$20,000).
Rotary ambassadors are artists, musicians, actors, and humanitarians who support Rotary’s work across all our main causes to create lasting change. They promote our vision of a world where people unite and take action by expanding our reach to new audiences, helping people understand who we are and what we do, and raising awareness of Rotary around the world. Through events, advocacy, media, and more, Rotary ambassadors engage with members and supporters to amplify our vision and impact.

“I have been fortunate enough to have a long history with Rotary, from promoting women’s health and safety around the world to gathering with Rotary members in California to promote peace. Rotary empowers regular people to become extraordinary changemakers by launching unique initiatives using their unique skills and passions. By doing so, they improve the lives of others far beyond their communities. I’ve seen firsthand the profound difference Rotary members make, and I’m honored to serve as a Rotary ambassador.”
